Agadir Beach

Agadir Beach

If the main beach in Tangier isn’t exactly the right place for those looking for aquatic sports, the Agadir Beach, located just 10 kilometers far from the city center, is surely a good option. There tourists can enjoy a white sand beach and an amazing azure ocean – it is a paradisiacal place to surf lovers.  The Agadir beach offers some services and facilities that aren’t so easy to find: there you will be able to rent a jet ski to explore the region and restaurants and bars are just near the sea. On the sand you can lie dawn and relax while getting a tan or, as many usually do, rent a Camel and start a exploration trip during a couple of hours. Yes, camel rides are not only available, but are one of Tangier’s top attractions, and for sure you (and your kids) will love this unusual experience. The Agadir Beach, one of the cleanest in Tangier’s region, is located on the Atlantic Ocean, so take care about the sea current, as it can be dangerous and strong near the Gibraltar Straight.

Some people would say that the Tangier Beach isn’t the ideal place to swim – and surely it is possible to find cleaner (and not so crowded) beaches near Tangier. You just need a 10-minute drive to visit those places. Although Tangier Beach isn’t as paradisiacal as any other beach located near Tangier, surely it is a place that must be visited. Walking along the beach is one of the favorite activates for tourists and Moroccan people. Enjoy a lovely walk, felling the white sand on your toes while looking to the amazing Tangier’s view. Did you get tired of walking? Just lie down on the sand and relax. You deserve it – and Tangier will be pleased to help you during your resting time there. As an urban beach, there are a lot of options to eat, drink or shop near t, as some accommodation options just in front of the sea. Just choose the most comfortable one and start your holiday in this charming African city.

If you are some of those people that just want to wake up, take a good breakfast and don’t walk more than 5 minutes to be on a beach maybe you should go to Qualidia. It’s located just in the middle of Tangier, meaning that you won’t need to rent a car or take a taxi to go to not so close places as Essaouria or Agadir. Yes, Qualidia is in town, and getting there is really easier. Why shouldn’t I go to the famous Tangier main beach instead of Qualidia?  Well, Qualidia is smaller and not so popular, it is true, but for many this is the most charming point about it: a not so crowded beach located just in the corner, a place quieter than Tangier Beach, although as beautiful as it. Another good program on Qualidia beach is to explore the coral reefs located on it. Surfers – and also hundreds lobsters – are other frequent visitors on Qualidia Beach, and many of them can be seen inside of many seafood restaurants at lunch time, although the lobsters aren’t really happy about that.

Essaouira Beach

During a sunny and hot day it is difficult to realize what is bluer in Essaouira Beach: the ocean or the sky. Together, they create and stunning view, a place that would be amazing on any postcard or picture.  The camels, the many little boats and some of the Morocco colors make Essaouira even more special. The beach is also located in the Atlantic Ocean (so be careful about the strong current, as this article just has explained about the Agadir Beach) and be prepared to have an amazing beach experience:  every tourist that arrives there takes at least 5 minutes just admiring all the beauty of the region. As the Agadir Beach, the Essaouira Beach is a good choice for adventure travelers. There are a lot of options for those looking for some sports as surf or kiting. Seafood restaurants are there, offering the best of the African cosine.

Hercules Cave’s Beach

The best thing about this beach isn’t the white sand or palm trees, but a cave located just near it. This cave gives the name for the beach, which is known as the Hercules Cave’s Beach. According to traditional legends and myths, the Greek hero Hercules rested in this Cave, thousands years ago, while doing one of his famous 12 labors. Just this simple fact (or myth?) makes the beach – and its cave – one of the most important touristic attractions in Tangier, a place where children and adults just love to visit. This famous Cave, although small, has another attractive point: it’s one of the most unusual caves you can find in world, as it is possible to see Africa’s silhouette at the cave’s entrance.
The beach is clean and the water a little bit cold, but this isn’t a problem for any of the thousands of tourists that arrive there during seasons and holidays. If you get to Hercules’ Cave you should spend some hours relaxing on its beach.
